1. Do you remember your first participation at BLICKFANG? When and where was it?
My first time BLICKFANG was in Zurich in 2004
2. How did BLICKFANG support you and your label?
BLICKFANG as one of the first (or even the very first) fairs for the public, brought together consumers and producing designers. For me, it was and still is a great platform to meet customers and discuss with them their needs and expectations of my products. And of course, this is the place where we can explain and sell our product the mfsystem.
3. What does the BLICKFANG mean to you?
BLICKFANG gives us the opportunity to sell locally made products for a fair price, from me to you.
4. Do you remember a significant moment at BLICKFANG?
The one BLICKFANG moment? There were so many great moments, in 2007 the owner from Horgen Glarus back then came and wanted to include the mf-table into his collection (it could not take place tho). Great conversations with architects from Raderschall whose office we furnished. Also the one or the other beer I had with Kuno from Kunotechnik (which is an exhibitor himself), who always talked me up and gave me the courage I needed. Or the acquaintance with Andreas Heim and Fabian Hediger from Beecom, who were thrilled about our products when they used to be a little startup and who are still loyal to this day (Thanx).
My BLICKFANG moment might be always after the fair when everything is dismantled, all the work is done, I said goodbye to Dieter (if he is there) and we already agree upon meeting in the next year.
5. Why is BLICKFANG still a fixed date in your calendar?
The BLICKFANG is and hopefully will stay the biggest fair for the public in Switzerland, focused on the relationship between customers and Designers. It is important for us the have a platform for Relationships, Customerservice, Advertisements, and Selling.
Do you remember your first participation at BLICKFANG? When and where was it?
I do not remember exactly if it was 1999 or 2000, but I got invited by BLICKFANG Zurich for a lecture about “new technologies and design”. Back then I used to work in an organization of workshops and events in that field and I was able to present my latest project “Fred”.
Do you remember a significant moment at BLICKFANG?
Rene Grüninger who used to be the head of Communication and PR at BLICKFANG Zurich gave me a tour through the fair after that lecture. This type of creative variety impressed me! The visit at BLICKFANG was one of the reasons I came back to the fashion business and participated as an exhibitor at BLICKFANG for the first time in 2002.
How did BLICKFANG support you and your label?
I vividly remember my first fashion show at the BLICKFANG in Zurich. It was my second BLICKFANG as an exhibitor – my brand for men’s fashion was fresh, young, and unknown. After the show, a lot of excited Men were surrounding my booth, all wanting to buy my designs. Wow! I was sooooo happy! Some of these men are still some of my best customers.
What does the BLICKFANG mean to you?
It is wonderful to have a platform where you can find many different ideas of design all next to each other, where there is space to present and test yourself in front of an audience without any judgment or the press. The audience only decides what they like.
Why is BLICKFANG still a fixed date in your calendar?
For independent design a presentation in a strong community is essential. BLICKFANG managed that type of presentation 20 years ago and is still supporting us. Thank you BLICKFANG!
